General Information
International airports at Glasgow and Edinburgh are less than 1 hour away; nearest train stations Dunblane and Stirling connecting with Edinburgh and Glasgow; buses approximately hourly weekdays from Stirling to Callander (there is a reduced service at weekends).
Travelling by Car
From Glasgow Airport/Glasgow
- Leave the Airport and follow signs for M8 (Stirling, Carlisle, Edinburgh)
- Branch left onto the M80, then join the M80 motorway (signposted Stirling, Kincardine Bridge) M80
- At roundabout take the 1st exit onto the A80 (signposted Stirling) A80
- Continue onto the M80
- At M80 junction 5 keep in right-hand lane then continue on the M80 (signposted Perth, Stirling) M80
- Continue onto the M9.
- Leave the M9 at junction 10 (signposted Stirling, Callander, Crianlarich), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A84 (signposted Callander)
- Continue onto the A84. Drive through Doune A84
- Continue onto Stirling Road - A84.
- You have arrived in Callander
Edinburgh City
Take route sign posted Airport and follow the next instructions.
From Edinburgh Airport
- Take the A8 to the Newbridge Interchange (4th exit signposted M9 Forth Road Bridge, Stirling)
- Leave the M9 at junction 10 (signposted Stirling, Callander, Crianlarich), then at roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A84 (signposted Callander)
- Continue onto the A84. Drive through Doune A84
- Continue onto Stirling Road - A84.
- You have arrived in Callander
From Perth
- Take the A93 to Junction A9/A93/M90
- A9 to Junction A9/A820 (Sign posted for Callander)
- Follow the A820 to Doune
- Turn right on to A84 (Sign posted Callander)
From Stirling
- Head for the M9 and Junction 10 then take the A84 all the way to Callander. You will pass through Doune along the way.
